Contents of the Collection The Frank D. Browning World War II Collection pertains to Browning's service as a navigator and bombardier with the 490th Bomb Squadron in the China India Burma Theater during World War II. Most of the items are dated 1942-1947, with some later dates. Abstract Jerry Michaud (1924-1982) Michaud served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Naval pilot in the Pacific Theater. Thelma McGraw (1920-1996) She worked as a stewardess with United Airlines (UAL). The collection contains textual materials, black-and-white photographs, and ephemera associated with their 1942-1952 naval and commercial airline careers, respectively.

Abstract William Orthman (1911-1990) was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as Public Relations Officer. The collection is comprised of 340 photographs and a small amount of textual materials from his 1945-1946 service.
